| "Routine incorporation of near-patient strategies could improve the process of care, minimize costs, and improve outcomes..." |

Use of the Stratus® CS System has demonstrated significant savings4,10 Unlike most near-patient testing systems that feature panels of tests4 the Stratus® CS System provides complete flexibility.

Single-use TestPaks help eliminate reagent waste |

System Check (Electronic QC) provides liquid QC flexibility while reducing the time and costs associated with processing daily liquid QC |
Accelerated diagnostic protocols using biochemical markers and near-patient testing strategies help reduce hospital stays and resultant costs in the management of both ACS-positive and ACS-negative patients.9,12

A Case Study: The benefits of POC Testing
| "..the substantial reductions in overall costs per patient, coinciding with risk stratification, has solidified the Stratus® CS' place as part of decentralized POC cTnI testing for patient care in our CSSU." |
|
M.M. Murakami, et al. AACC Poster Presentation. 20041
|
Recently a study was conducted to evaluate the impact of point of care (POC) cardiac Troponin I (cTnI) testing versus routine cTnI testing on patient outcomes and resource utilization in coronary care (CCU) and cardiac short stay (CSSU) units at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, MN. A total of 545 patients with symptoms suggestive of acute coronary syndromes were enrolled in the study.1
- Routine Testing: cTnI determinations were performed on 274 patients in the central laboratory by medical technologists on the Dimension® Clinical Chemistry System
- POC Testing: cTnI determinations were performed 271 patients at the bedside by nurses on the Stratus® CS Acute Care™ Diagnostic System
