Smoking Cessation and Smoke Avoidance1,2
Smokers should be strongly encouraged to stop smoking and others should be warned about and avoid other people’s tobacco smoke (secondhand smoke). To help smokers quit, counseling, nicotine replacement or adjunctive therapy and formal cessation programs should be considered, as appropriate.
