Primary Prevention of Cardiovascular Disease and Stroke

Physical Activity1,2
At least 30 minutes of moderate-intensity activity on most days of the week should be encouraged because regular exercise improves conditioning and promotes optimum fitness. This includes brisk walking, jogging, cycling or other aerobic activity. For inactive patients, daily lifestyle activities should be increased gradually. For those with low functional capacity and/or other health related problems, medically supervised exercise programs may be advised.
