Weight Management1,2
As part of routine exams, a patient’s weight, height and body mass index (BMI) should be measured and calculated. Desirable weight, defined as a BMI in a range from 21 – 25 kg/m2 is the goal. A BMI of 25 kg/m2 corresponds to 110% of desirable body weight. A desirable waist circumference for men is no more than 40 inches and is no more than 35 inches for women. Weight management and physical activity, as appropriate, should be started if these goals are not met.
